In the next few pages, we talk about physical activity as we age. We share realistic and fun ways to move our bodies that are achievable. There are many different ways that we can stay active, and the most important part is finding what makes us happy.
In this section we refer to both physical activity and exercise. Physical activity refers to any type of movement and can be unintentional. Exercise is usually a planned and structured activity. Being physically active has been shown to have many benefits, including improving quality of life, reducing disability, reducing mental ill health, decreasing feelings of isolation and strengthening intergenerational connections.
